I have an old HP TouchSmart 300-1003 All-in-One. It is a dinosaur but I'm looking for a cheap option without buying a new computer.
It is a Pegatron APP78-CF motherboard ( HP - Jesse Custom 20.5 cm ( 8.07 in) x 25.0 cm (9.84 in) AM3 socket. AMD M780G chipset.
It has an AMD Athlon X2 235e and 240e (R). HP specs say this motherboard supports AMD Athlon X4 600e and 605e (P).
Does anyone have a suggestions (other than a new PC) if the motherboard would support a better CPU or if there would be a newer motherboard and CPU that fits in this form factor?
