What are the possible causes that would lead to an inoperable computer that will not turn on? Aside from the obvious such as checking that the power cord is plugged in and is connected to a working outlet, I've been wondering what could be preventing it from turning on. I ordered a new power supply thinking that it was perhaps the problem, but to no avail. That said, I have growing concern that it may be something more serious, but don't know where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There really isn't a specific answer to this. All in one computers are basically slightly more modular laptops.

And the power supply, either external brick, or internally mounted doesn't actually run the computer. Most everything in a computer these days is supplied 12 volts and internal power circuits produce the low-voltage that CPUs, memory, and buses run on. Any of them could have failed. If there is an internal short, the powersupply won't deliver power and will power itself down to prevent further damage.

My recommendation would be to take it to the nearest HP authorized dealer and see if they can troubleshoot.
