I'm facing the same problem with HP v220w 16GB flash drive. I've tried each and every method that I could find on other websites but to no resolution. I use windows 7 64bit and it is updated with all the latest updates. Other flash drives are working fine on the same ports therefore I don't see any hardware related problem. I'm out of clue now.

Try plugging the flash drive into a usb extension wire.. it worked for me. probably one of the contacts are too thin or something..

Hi, its likely the key is toast, possibly a software or hardware glitch on the key itself. As a last ditch thing to have a go with, try freezing it, works well with most dodgy Harddrives, and ive just managed to bring an 8GB HP back to life by doing it. What do you have to loose! Put it into a sealed plastic bag as tech and moisture dont mix well, then get as much air out of the bag as possible. freeze for at least 12 hours and try it... hope this helps someone. Its obviously a last ditch effort but if your key is toast, what do you have to loose?
