Is it possible to upgrade the i3-6100 CPU to a Xeon E3-1245-V6? CPU supported list shows the Xeon.

If so what would be the best procedure?

Thanks

Make sure to update BIOS to the latest version before swapping CPUs.
Power off system and disconnect power cord
Remove the side panel.
Remove CMOS battery.
Remove the fan shroud and system fan
Remove heatsink. If using the same heatsink clean old thermal compound.
Press the CPU lever down, the right and lift it to release CPU retention plate.
Carefully lift CPU from socket.
Look for the yellow triangle on the CPU assembly, to align it correctly to pin one on the CPU socket.
Carefully place the new CPU on the socket and secure the CPU with the retention plate.
Apply thermal compound on the CPU.
Reinstall heatsink, fan and fan shroud.
Reinstall CMOS battery.
Connect power and turn on the PC.

Above procedure worked great. Went from the i3 to the Xeon. Now to add more memory.
