Hello. I have a HP Z400 workstation that I would like to use for light gaming. Specs are:
Xeon W3520
Stock 475 watt PSU
20 gb ddr3 ram (10600) non ECC.
3 3.5 inch HDD's
Single DVD drive
Current GPU is a Quadro 2000 which I would like to replace with an R9 380x nitro.

The Z400 does not allow for a straight swap of another PSU without a converter purchased or DYI, and I am not able or willing to take out a loan to buy the OEM HP proprietary 600 watt PSU, ( if it can even be found). I have a 750w EVGA supernova modular PSU, but until I can find an adapter that is feesible will it hurt to try the R9 the way the set-up is, provided it even boots? I bought the R9 used so really eager to at least test it. Thank you.
