I have a p166 overclocked to a p200. the stock cooler gets REALLY hot (I cant touch it without burning my hand) so i decided i need a better one. Theres only a heatsink on there at the mo and I was wondering if it is possible to get a hsf for socket 7 mobo, or if you cant, will any modern day coolers fit on it e.g socket 478, sock 370, sock A etc?

If all else fails, Go further :)

You can use a small (60mm X 60mm) Socket A HSF. I use a GlobalWin VFP32 on an overclocked K6-2. Here's HSF that I use. http://www.nexfan.com/44/98.htm?882. Great vendor by the way.

Thanx, ive been and bought the same one from PCworld, it works really well, put my temps down from about 61 to 38, great improvement.

Socket 370 and most Socket A coolers also fit, in fact I've used them extensively for upgrading old 2.8v core boards to 2.2v K6-2's.
