It’s been a long time coming, but the wait isn’t over yet. Much to our dismay, though not really to our surprise, HTC’s highly anticipated Vive VR HMD will not be launching this December, though we no longer have to guess when its coming.

Don't mistake "VR" for one or two high-end HMDs. There's a ton of VR stuff already out in the wild. Including the Gear VR, and others. Make no mistake friend, it's coming!

It's not around the bend. It's here. That was my point.

The super high-end HMDs are forthcoming, yes, but it's not like there's just a bunch of empty promises. The dev kits are extraordinary. The tech is amazing. More content comes out every day. There's a lot of fine-tuning to be done, sure, but it's not vaporware by any means.

i think they did good delaying it for a few months. i never thought that a 2015 release date would be possible because they had no real good games announced for this holiday season and they also still have work to do on their software.
