Not sure if this a good place to post this question but here goes.
I accidentally plugged my headphones into the Jack incorrectly
(It didn't go all the way through).
The phone recognized the headphones were plugged in, for a sec (not 100% sure though), and then it didn't, and now it doesn't recognize theat all.

Update: I plugged in another set of headphones and they worked, previous ones still don't.

My laptop does however.
So could this be a hardware problem ?
Does anyone have a fix for this ?
Thanks in advance.

Note: feel free to correct any grammatical error you see. : )

The HTC headphones are not working at all with either your phone or laptop - correct?

If other headphones are working with both the phone and laptop then it is likely that you damaged the HTC headphones plug.

Take a close look at the plug and look for signs of damage. However, the problem could be a broken wire inside the plug or cable. Especially if you had to pull hard to get the plug out of the jack.

Plug the HTC headphones into a known working jack with audio playing. Gently wiggle, twist, and pull on the plug. If you can get some sound, even if briefly, then the problem is a broken connection.

Plug may or may not be replaceable - someone would need to cut off the original plug and connect a new plug. Or splice the wiring if there is a break along the cable.

Thanks for the reply.

Well its working fine with the laptop actually.

I tried a few "juggling and wiggling" and found a kind-of solution, by pluging the headphones into the jack but not all the way through and wait for a sec until the phone recognizes the headphones. After that everything is as it was.
