Hello. I'm looking to build a HTPC. The primary use will be streaming Slingbox, Netflix, etc. My main requirements are HDMI output, ethernet jack, and if it can be as quiet as possible, that would be great too. I don't need huge hard drive space at this point, as I'm planning to add a NAS later on when we're ready to move all our DVDs to a hard drive. So at this point I wouldn't need an optical drive.

My problem is that I'm just not sure where to start in my part selection. Any guidance, especially as far as motherboard and processor go, would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

For an operating system you can use Ubuntu linux
The machine is low powered , but should be fine for streaming TV
I built in an SSD for storage . You could shave about $30 off the build and get a 500 gig conventional drive , but the SSD will be silent
