HTPC or Tower for my cabinet?

Mar 1, 2009
I'm setting up my plans for putting my home office in my garage and really want to have the PC in a cabinet next to my desk. The cabinet has shelves and a door to it. Since a tower won't fit standing up in the cabinet, I was thinking about buying an HTPC even though I won't be using it for HTPC reasons...not connected to a TV.

Does this make sense? My system isn't going to be a big gaming rig, but I still want it relatively beefy to handle games if I want to.

What should I do?
HTPC cases generally have poor cooling . There just isnt room for the big slow spinning fans that powerful computers need to shift all that heat away .

Putting a computer in a closed cabinet isnt going to work either for the same reason . Air flow is important .
