When the first articles about the 780G motherboards came out, I think they did their testing with an AMD 2350BE dual-core processor. Now-a-days, I think the common recommendation is the AMD 4850 dual-core.

The HD 3450 and the Geforce 9400GT Should be able to handle HD content, but only get one if you need one. On-board video for these newer motherboards is sufficient for HD playback.

Just make sure the ATI videocard you choose supports UVD 2.0 or the nvidia GPU supports CUDA. As as they do, any dual core will play back 1080p content fine.
