My sister would like to buy this smartphone: Honor 20 Pro
We were concerned that the Huawei ban will affect it, will it continue to work normally as any other phone or will it stop receiving security updates and such?

The way things are going I would not take the chance.

Even if they suddenly lower prices or otherwise offer other enticements to purchase.

Personally wouldn’t get it anyway because they’re kinda shady but with google being a tad skittish that’s another fairly good reason.

They're a Chinese "independent" company not at all affiliated with the Chinese government. Data from there devices have mysteriously sent data through Chinese servers for no reason of course and a they've sold stuff to countries under sanctions from the UN. Plus how they're essentially banned from most 5G infrastructure.

Overall not a fan of a regime who killed the same number of people as Hitler and Stalin combined (25 million total) in the space of 4 years. (The great leap forward killed over 45 million)
