I am considering using a "Huawei E5577 4g hot spot" as home broadband source , I have just read a great article on this website titled "how to use 4G as an Alternative for your Home Internet Services" I am considering doing the same, the article speaks of a number of different Huawei routers one can use , I am reading great reviews on the Huawei E5577 4G Hot Spot" is that just another name for a router ? ( as you may gather I am not very techie , up to now "the nice man just arrived and put a box on the wall now hey presto you have broadband" but since the service in my area poor and expensive I have decided to educate myself. My phone reports a 20Mbps download speed outside , well capable of streaming movies
If i go indoors it fluctuates and drops I am hoping the E5577 has a better antenna than my phone , Murphys it's the window of the highest furthest room that achieved the best signal , It's not an ideal location to bounce from, I could consider an external antenna and leave the E5577 central in the house or is it possible to extend the wifi from the E5577 , any advise would be greatly appreciated, best wishes from the west of Ireland

You would need a contract that allows you unlimited Broadband or the cost of using that device to power a home with several devices would be enormous.

They market those for motorhomes and boats with a couple of devices which aren't in use all the time. Downloadiing Windows updates, as an example, would cost a fortune unless you can find a company which will give you unlimited bandwidth.

I don't know about Ireland but here in England, no company does that unless you buy a mobile phone from them at a highly inflated cost to include the contract.

Here in Ireland i can get a SIM only deal drom "Three" @€20/month unlimited data allowance or one from "Meteor" for €30/month , with 50 Gb , no contract, top up when the 50Gb is used up , so using a 4G router seems to make sence , since my first post I have done some more research and found that there are better suited huawei routers available to do what i am attempting , eg Huawei B596
