Huge CPU temperature spikes, please help

Hello,

I built a new pc with a Intel i7 6700k and a Cryorig H7. I noticed that when I open some programs or webpages, the temp would spike up to 60s-80s for a split second and the fan would speed up for 1-2 seconds and slow back down. It happens more frequently when I'm downloading a file where the fan would just spin up and down every 10-20 seconds. CPU is still at stock speed.

it seems like you haven't applied the thermal paste correctly, or you messed up the installation and the cooler isn't 100% in contact with the CPU.

Thanks for the response. I tried reinstall and reapplying the thermal paste, but I'm still getting the temp spikes. One thing I noticed in hwmonitor is that the vcore max is around 1.44v. I read that stock i7 6700k should be at 1.2v, could this be the cause? Also, another weird thing is the cpufanin min was at 0rpm at one point, although I never saw it stop spinning. I'm not sure if this is normal behavior.
