Huge gpu clock drop on evga 1080 ftw

Sometimes my screen flickers, and with it the gpu clock drops dramatically to 250nhz And then when it next flickers it goes back to 1750 then back and forth... I've had my gpu 2 days too. What is wrong with it??

It doesn't sound like thermal throttling. I'd start by uninstalling an reinstalling the drivers.

So even though I've got the latest driver I should reinstall it?

That's what I'd do. I don't know exactly what the problem is, but if I was in your situation I'd be thinking it might be a driver issue. I'd uninstall what you currently have and reinstall them.
