Huge input lag on high graphics settings (Dying Light)

I'm not sure what's causing it. With max settings I'm still getting 50-60+ FPS, but my input lag feels like it's around 500ms, which is unplayable. Bump it down to medium graphics and the input lag decreases, but is still there, and I'm getting 70-90fps. Finally I decrease to low, there's zero input lag, and I have like 110-130fps.

I tried turning v-sync on and off, but it didn't help.

My current specs are in my sig. I'm playing on a 2k monitor.

Solution

Hmm, if you have some time to test, open Dying Light, and set everything to max. Then take one setting (say textures) and move it to the lowest setting. Then test to see if you have the input lag. keep testing until you find the setting that is causing the problem.

You shouldn't see much of a decrease in how the games look by taking those out. AO is a light affect that attempts to make light react realistically on surfaces like faces. The HBAO is related to AO too, try changing that to SSAO if you want, but it doesn't matter much either. Depth of field kind of speaks for itself, but it's fine to let go of too

Solid question. My first guess was something with Direct X or something, but it could be a driver problem with your card.

if you see any weird problems like this in the future, use Display Driver Uninstaller to get rid of all drivers for the GPU, and then reinstall only the latest ones
