Hello. I'm just going to cut to the chase because backstory seems to be unnecessary. I can be running a game with a constant frame rate of over 100fps, but as soon as I start recording from on-system software the fps drops to under 10fps. I think it could have something to do with my hard drive speed but I have done a test of recording onto and off of an external hard drive( which is basically an SSD) and still no solution to the frame drop. Also note that I am unable to use NVIDIA shadowplay because I dont have 4gb VRAM. Here is my system:
CPU: intel i5 4690k
GPU: GTX 960 2gb ssc
MOBO: ASRock z97 Pro4
HDD(s): 160gb 5400rpm drive ; 750gb 7200rpm drive
RAM: 16gb DDR3 1333mhz ram
If you need more info just let me know. Thanks.
