Hello everyone.
At first I want to say, that my english is not the best in the world, but I will try my best.
Recently I bought a new ssd disk for my computer. I installed it into my computer, formatted hard drive, created new partitions and installed windows. In the middle of windows installation process I heard that hard drive clicking sound, and I quickly realized, that I installed windows on a wrong drive, where all my data was stored, so I quickly turned off the computer, disconnected the old hard drive and repeated the installation process, this time I did it correctly. Now the poblem was, that my data is gone. I tried to recover data with easeus recovery program, but now it says, that recovery data size is 3,6 TB, but hard drive size, that i want to recover data from is only 1 TB big. My question is, do I really need to go ahead and buy 4 TB hard drive, to save all files or is there any other solution?
Tnx for any help.

The easeus recovery program looks at the index area of the HDD and lists every entry it can find. Old entries of deleted files are still there which is why it can recover files. It sees 4TB because that includes index entries for all the files you deliberately deleted or overwrote with updated copies. The true amount of data is the total size shown for the files on the drive before you made the mistake.

Most of the files listed are probably corrupt because at least one part of the file has been overwritten. Trying to recover everything on a 1TB drive and check the integrity of each file would take a VERY long time. If you know the names of a few very important files you could look for them in the Easus list and try to recover one at a...
