Not sure if i've put this in the correct forum but here goes.

At the end of March/beginning of April, I will hopefully be upgrading my system. I'll have about £300 - £350 GBP(about $500 - $550, i think). I'm looking to get a new AMD Athlon64, 939 motherboard SLI, and a Nvidia PCIe graphics. Now, this is what i'm looking for so i won't be persuaded to go ATI and i don't what someone to tell me SLI is a waste of time and money. So, i'd apreciate some suggestions on what i should go for? Any links to reviews would be helpful.

Also, I've heard about 6600 Turbocache graphic cards. Is it worth it? Can anyone tell me where i can find some reviews/info on them?

Gigabyte GV-K8T800, AMD Athlon64 2800+,
1024MB PC3200 Samsung DDR, XFX Geforce 6600GT 128MB DDR3, Maxtor 80GB 7200 HDD, NEC 2500A 8x DVD Writer

The motherboard forum has some info/links on SLI mobos. Take a look around in there and then post...

Don't know about turbocache, but the graphics card forum would be a good place to throw that one out...

You can also do a search on either of those for posts - look on the left of the page for Search Boards.

It's for gaming. I know my current system is very much capable but i'm thinking long term here.

6600GT is available in PCIe

with that budget, its doubtful you can make an effective SLI system. According to the SLI review here at THG, to really take adavantage of the set up, you need a VERY fast CPU and 2 VERY fast GPUs. The reviewer has stated that when running 2 6800GTs or 2 6800Ultras that the system would hang on the CPU, and that was when running an a64 4000. That CPU alone costs more than $500. I just don't see how you could pull this off, even if you plan on buying one card now and one later. I also do not believe that it's worth it to buy a 6600gt for SLI; for 2 of those you can get a card that will smoke them in SLI or not. Also, SLI is most effective at high resolutions and only on certain games. In some games it will actually run slower than either card would alone. It just seems like it's not worth doing (at least for the time being) IMO.
