Ever heard about Syntax and Grammar ?

Dual-Core CPUs are peculiar beasts that need to be tamed if you want them to show their full potential.

Single-threaded applications won't benefit from the 2nd core which will just stay idle, unlike multithreaded applications on a multithreaded OS which will show a certain benefit.

Try encoding two movies at the same time after you assign the proper CPU affinity to each instance, that dual core CPU will really flex its muscles and show its full potential.

If it does'nt, it means overlooked some minor detail like flashing the BIOS to a version that actually supports dual core CPUs so the OS can actually use it.

If that thread was intended to be a troll, it definitely is a weak one, if you sincerely meant to point out a newly discovered flaw of dual core CPUs, I can only point and laugh at your incompetence and cluelessness.

Hum, ppl why not buy the 3800+!!!!

It's a no brainer, go dual core and OC it.
Simple Steps to Overclocking:
1.)Get your 3800+ (or comparable cheap Opteron CPU  )
2.)Get good HS and Fan (like SI-120)
3.)Make RAM divider somthing rediculously slow (to take it out of the equation for now)
4.)Lower the mult. and bump up the Bus Speed

I have seen many 3800+'s get to FX-55 and sometimes FX-57 speeds. The Opteron 165's almost always get at least 2.8GHZ, most on stock voltage.
