Hundreds of white dots appearing on screen

Hundreds of white dots have suddenly appeared on my screen, it looks like static from an old TV. I've checked to see if it's my monitor but the monitor is fine.

often related to bad GDDR. do you have an integrated GPU to test if it is your (presumably) installed gpu?
