Hello.

Recentely I revived my old hp tx2000z tablet and updated the OS to windows 8.1 x64 bit. Having a heck of a time hunting down functional drivers for the now rather dated radeon hd 3200 video card that this machine runs on. If any of you folks could help, it'd be wildly appriciated.

Did go through amd's catalyst control center and try to pull up the old drivers through there, but the ones still avaliable are now under legacy and non-functional as far as a proper update is concerned. Technically windows update aught to have them but the drivers are apparentely a bit off/missing functionality.

Preferably would like to get this machine capiable of running things like minecraft/wurm online, that requires functional drivers for the x64 bit operating system, right now it all errors out.

Solution
That device only has Windows Vista as an OS option., It's unlikely that you will find any functional drivers for Windows 8.1 64-bit. Standard AMD drivers are not likely to work as HP probably tweaked the standard Vista drivers to run on their system. Your best option here is likely to roll back to Vista.

Click on the link bellow, select integrated motherboard graphics.
Scroll down the page to manually select driver.

Radeon 3xxx series

Radeon 3200

And select what bit version you need based on the os installed.
You should be able to download the windows 7 drivers.

Right click on the install file and select properties.
You should have a compatibility tab tick windows 7 compatibility mode.
Click apply.
Now right click again on the install or setup exe.
Select run as admin.

You said you were running a Radeon HD 4850 which is a discrete graphics card. The OP is running an HD 3000 mobility chipset, most likely tweaked by HP. I seriously doubt the ones you linked would work. No harm in the OP trying them, however.
