HWMonitor shows HDD is over 100 Degrees celcius?

Hi I was just running Prime95 on my new computer and I noticed that HWMonitor is showing the HD temperature as around 118 Celcius. This is a brand new WD 500gb Blue HDD with windows 7 installed on it. My other Storage HDD is coming up at 13 degrees celcius. Is this just a dodgey sensor?

Ok so I've stopped Prime95 now and restarted HWMonitor and now it does not show any temperature reading for "Drive" and Assembly/Airflow are both at 26 celcius.

I Guess it was just a glitch, I put my hand near the HDD earlier and it certainly wasn't over 100 Celcius.

Either the software is inaccurate or you have a flaky sensor. Try crystal disk info or some other freeware that can monitor temps.

Ok I just ran the program you recommended and that is showing my HDD temp at 34 Celcius matching what HWmonitor is currently telling me. I guess it must have just been a glitch earlier :s Its strange that now when I now open HWMonitor it only has Assembly and Airflow temperature readings, the entire row for "Drive" which was showing the strange temperatures has now vanished. Ah well problem resolved for now anyway.
