HWmonitor temps vs asus aura defference

Hi guys !

I have a little problem here.

So the hwmonitor software says my CPU temperature is 60-65 c while gaming but the the asus aura temp reading feature reads very different values.

it has real time temp monitoring with rgb.

If your temp is 40 c it's green
If 50-60 it's orange-ish
60 and above red

It have some spikes for 1-2 sec but thats it , that means aura read around 40-50.

When i "check" the back of the pc the air is not even that warm. it should be warmer if the cpu runs 60+ c yes ?

So which program is to be trusted ?

I find that HWinfo64 is more reliable than HWmonitor. Try downloading that one and compare it to the rest.

What are your system specs? I know with some of the previous gen AMD processors it was tricky to get an exact temperature reading. But I agree with shmoochie-use HWinfo64, its a great program, very detailed and accurate.

There is almost 5 c difference between HWinfo64 and HWmonitor.

HWmonitor : jumping from 38-45
HWinfo64 : stable 38-41

I juse a i7 7700k.

Well the variance between the two readings is not exactly large so you do have a rough idea where you're standing. I guess if you want you can try a 3rd program such as coretemp or even MSI afterburner to see what readings you're getting.

I've tried Coretemp and got the exact same results like in HWmonitor.
