Hybrid drive showing as a single disk

I have a newer Asus model laptop with a factory installed 1TB Hard Drive (500 GB SSD and 500 GB HDD). In file explorer it would show C: Drive with something like 400 GB and D: Drive with just under 500GB. Easy enough to figure out which was which. I recently wiped my system of windows 10 to install Linux Mint, and after the install my disk partition is showing up as one solid disk space of roughly 1TB. Long story short, I have reinstalled Windows 10 and would like to have each partition show up separately. The goal eventually is to split a partition to have Linux installed, but it is still only showing up as one single drive. Any ideas on how to refresh this and have it show up as two seperate disk spaces?

This isn't a hybrid configurations. This is a RAID 0 configuration and the drive was just partitioned out as two seperate drives.

Hybrid drives/Configs 1) Use a SSD as a cashe. You don't actually have access to them to store them 2) A hard drive has a built in SSD cashe that you again don't have access to.

Are you use there is a 500GB SSD and a 500GB HDD? Go into your BIOS and check the drives. It should say what is installed. Or go into Device Manager and under Hard Drives see what is listed.

Yeah i'm pretty sure it has 2 seperate drives in it.. When it was fresh and brand new it would show C: drive and D: Drive. I agree with using the SDD as cache for speed.. And that is my intention. I can pretty simply just go split my partition in two, having two partitions of 500GB.. Thats super easy. But, who's to say thats where the HDD ends and the SSD begins? Thats my concern. It came with a hybrid and I'd like to have it show as hybrid again if possible. BIOS for ASUS doesnt give the option to check disks in BIOS and the Device Manager doesnt say clearly either, just says the "Generic-Multi-Card-USB Device" and "WDC WD10JPVx-80JC3TO". I assume the second is my HDD/SSD disk combination..

** Update: I actually just checked the Hard Drive type using that item number.. Clearly a 1TB HDD.. That sucks. It was sold to me as a hybrid.. Thanks for your help anyway

Yea I was going to say the way it would have to have been setup with the way it is working would be totally unwise and it doesn't work that way with Hybrid configs because it would have had to been setup as a RAID 0 and in a RAID 0 data is written to both drives not just one or the other so it would have still been as slow as a normal hard drive.

But yea sounds like there is no SSD in this unless there is a mSATA SSD that it isn't showing that is being used for Cashe but even then it should list it in device manager so no SSD in that laptop man. Sorry

I don't think you understand what a hybrid drive is. It's a regular drive with a smaller SSD area for cache. You can't just use that SSD part as a separate hard drive since it's part of the whole hard drive. It's like saying the handle of the baseball bat you bought is wasting space you can use for the hitting area and you now want to separate the two. Where you hold the bat is part of the overall bat, just like the SSD cache part of a hybrid drive is part of the whole 1 TB drive.
