Recently purchased a Samsung Series 5 Ultra Touch (NP540U3C-A03UB). It comes with a 500gb HDD with 24gb cache drive built in. I have a Samsung 840 250gb SSD that I would like to put in this. I was first going to just copy the HDD to SSD but when I went to, I found that were 5-6 partitions on this thing, and I'm not sure which to keep (I know I want at least the system reserved and C:/, There were also 2 recovery partions one small and one was 22gb, and 1 or 2 more). I was just going to keep the others but even with shrinking the C:/ partition there wasn't enough room on the SSD. So next I decided I was going to do a fresh install of WIN 8 on the SSD, and get the drivers from Samsung but looking at the Samsung Support site, they don't have the drivers yet for download. Not sure where to go from here.

Hey Bogey14,

you don't don't need drivers for Samsung SSD's. They are basically plug-n-plays. the only things available for the SSD's are firmware updates, but those updates just have to do with speed optimization. Also, if you try to clone a hdd or other ssd with RECOVERY partitions, it won't work cuz the manufacturers make that partition un-clonable, and important system files are saved there, so the clone would fail.

Thanks for your reply, I didn't know that about the recovery partitions. As far as the drivers I should have been more clear, I meant the system drivers for the laptop and all its components, not the SSD. (Video, motherboard, touchpad, network adapter, Bluetooth, etc.)

Try this: http://www.driveridentifier.com/

if your not able to download the files after running the driver scan, at least you have the names of the drivers you need, so just google search em.
