Hyper 212 evo with 2 aftermaket fans or NH-U14S?

I have a ryzen 1600 at 3.9ghz and a Hyper 212 evo led turbo with 2 noctua NF-P12PWM.

Im wondering if a Noctua NH-U14S would be better ?

What do you think?

I can't find a comparison between a hyper 212 evo with 2 aftermaket fans or a NH-U14S with a ryzen 6 core (or 8 core) at 3.9-4.0ghz

Got my self a notua NH-D15 SE AM4 i know it's good but now i have something to compare it to,atleast something i can remember.

600-650 rpm with the hyper 212 evo with NF-P12PWM 71c in prime 95 small fft

Noctua NH-D15 SE AM4 25% = 525 rpm (100% is not 2100) 60-62 c in prime 95 small fft

Idle 38-39 ish, with the NH-D15 32 c and it's a bit more silent than the hyper 212 with 2 noctua fans
What Blackbird is saying is that the cooling potential is already maxed via fans, the issue is that the radiator is sub-par when compared to any Noctua design.

I personally prefer AIO Liquid. not much more than the best air cooler (arguably Noctua NH-d15) and is just as good, and better in many cases. looks cleaner in a case, Plus you don't run the risk of ruining your 14nm chip if you happen to bump the case a little too hard (3lbs on the chip itself vs a fraction of a pound on a cooling block and the radiator safely attached to the case)

Corsair H100i performs almost as well as the Noctua NH-d15 but is louder and the bigger H115i can probably match the performance and noise level. I have a 6700k @4.7GHz (1.4v) and it doesn't get over 65C in gaming with two ML140 fans @1100 RPM. I bet if I had noctua fans it would be cooler and quieter than any air rig, but I like my LED's 😀

If temps are not a problem would a better cpu cooler make it possible to oc higher ?

I do remember to have read that someone (not ryzen related) that have gotten a better cpu cooler where able to oc higher than with the old cpu cooler

Im thinking to go all they way and buy a NH-D15 SE-AM4
 
Depends on the CPU. For example with a 7700k most people hit the thermal limit before the voltage limit... with my 6700k I seem to have hit a sweet spot where I am just under 90c at torture loads (burn test) and at 1.4v (the recommended safe limit on Intel chips). For people with the 4790k, they seem to have cool temps and high voltages.

As far as Ryzen I really have no idea.
You'll have to research.

Usually top notch cooling is not a bad idea if you plan on doing some serious overclocking.

Heat may not be an issue now, but once you start cranking up that voltage its going to go up FAST.
Before I did my 4.7GHz OC (up from 4.0) my gaming load temps were under 45C, torture loads under 65C
now they are up 20C and that's on a cooler that is better than the best air cooler. So yeah it's not a bad idea if you plan on OCing to the max potential.

Technically speaking you can overclock until it gets too hot, but if you go over a certain voltage, again not sure what that is with Ryzen, you run the risk of frying your CPU and it dying WAY before it's time due to it being over "safe" voltage limits.(safe depending on who you ask.)
