I'm thinking about getting this, and I was wondering if it will hold itself up in my case, or would I have to put my case on its side? Probably a silly question but it looks very large and I think that the torque force it puts on a processor/motherboard will be damaging. I have a NZXT s340 and a z97 extreme 4 motherboard if that helps any.

You're overthinking things.

The mounting backplate for the cooler is more than enough to hold the cooler in place without having to tip the case on its side.

And the screws are HAND TIGHT. Not enough at all to damage the mobo.

The thousands of other people who have installed it, and the similar size predecessor the 212 PLUS, have seen zero issues.

And get the 212x - Never version of Evo with better fan and airflow.
