Question Hyper 212 for 10700K?

Hi,
Will this CPU be alright, especially if I limit the CPU to Intel Spec, disable the unlimited boost.
Im building a PC for sale from parts that I have and I have 10700K and it had D15 which im using for my 12700 [non K]
So i have old Hyper 212 will it be all right to put it on 10700k?

P.S. Right now it has Noctua fan, but i rather put back its original fan and take the Noctua for myself, but if its the only option to make it work then ill leave it

Hyper 212 may become loud in operation.
Generally i7-10700k requires a better cooler - Cryorig H5, Bequiet Dark Rock 4 or similar.

You can replace the stock fan with a quieter static pressure fan. I ran one that way for a while on a 1.29 volt i7-4770k at 4.3Ghz. That was closing in on 120W if I recall, might have been more.

In terms of noise he is right. The stock fan on the Hyper 212 is all about airflow. It tends to ramp up quickly.

The heatsink is good for it. As long as the motherboard is reasonable about voltages and settings anyway.

i7-10700k is 8core/16 thread cpu after all.
With 7th gen i7 (4core/8thread)- Hyper 212 is more/less fine. With 10th gen i7 - not so good anymore.

Stock i7-4770k was running 3.9Ghz. I did push mine to 4.5Ghz, but didn't like the temps. Settled on 4.3Ghz 1.29 volts.

I would love to find the old chart that had voltage / temperature plotted. I know it peaked around 155W at 1.4 volts. I've searched a dozen old overclocking forums and can't find the one I recall. I did find a few references to peaks around 150W though.

Tom's put a stock 10700K at 147W under load.

Mind those are all stress tests.

Still, take a nice 120mm fan and strap it to the 212, you can get rid of the noise.

I get what you are saying but the 4th gen ran super hot, Weren't they also not soldered IHS? The 10th Gen desktop cpus do not share the same flaws.

If you run a stress test or put it under a work load thermal throttling unless you change the power plan for the PL.
You can do that if you wish I could care less but if I bought it from you I would be like WTF.

The 4790K had the improved IHS, the 4770 was fairly bad, but your still looking at a 8 core 16 thread instead of a 4 core 8 thread.
Under load unless you gimp it in BIOS no way a hyper 212 would work without thermal throttling.

Is the hyper 212 that much worst then the hyper 212 black?, because if not your argument is questionable as I have a 10700k and my temps are always under 75c on my system.

You either have it gimped in BIOS or need to run a stress test then.

I have a 10600K with a much better Cryorig R1 and under full load my temps are in the upper 80's
