Please help me guys. Following are my specs:
i5 2500k oc 4.3ghz
P8 Z77 VPro mono
8gb sniper g skill ram 1600
Seasonic 620 II bronze PsU
On stock cooler CPU idle temps were around 60 degree C and on load 82 degree max. So I got the cooler master 212x and now on idle temps are between 38 to 50 and on full load it's 60 to 72 max .. Is this normal with such a cooler? :(

Solution
Just use CPU-Z from CPUID it will tell you your current voltage. in the UEFI it will not ramp up and down like in Windows. If it is on Auto it would probably read about 1.075v the whole time your in the UEFI BIOS. Also in windows make sure that the Power management set to balanced , Though Performance is best you would have to change the Processor minimum power to 2-5% instead of 100%. That would bring your Idle temps down some.

The idle seems a bit high, but the load temps seem kinda reasonable depending on how much voltage you're at with that overclock (I'd assume close to stock though). Are you confident that you applied the thermal paste well enough? It could also be an airflow problem, maybe you need a bit more exhaust near the heatsink to pull that hot air out.

As this is my first experience with custom cooler I am not sure how much thermal compound is adequate. And I have stock fans in carbide 300r .. 1 front panel intake and 1 back panel exhaust.

Hmmm so there is nothing wrong with the cooler? I was thinking about a replacement.

Hmmmm to be honest i have no idea, but its the stock fans what Corsair carbide 300R offers if that helps?

140mm fans are available where i stay, so adding 120mm fans on side and top will do the job? And according to you there is not problem with the cooler that i need to replace?

Then I would say your temps are fine. Most tests you will see online are run at an ambient of 20'c, so if your ambients are going from 25-35 you will see the same amount increased in your temps.

So max temps at load going almost 75 degree C is Normal? :| I was expecting around 60-65 max with this cooler :/

Did you read my reply? If you had ambient temps of 20'c you probably would be getting 60-65. If you ambient temp is getting to 30'c then your temps will be higher by 10'c

Hmmm yeah got you now, so i have to deal with 70 plus temperatures. :/ Thanks for the help :)
P.S. i was about to get my hyper 212x replaced lol

One thing to add is about the P8Z77 V Pro, it by default uses more voltage on auto settings such as Vcore. Mine was hitting 1.26v at stock speed though the Vdroop should compensate for the higher vcore the Default setting is closer to high(50%) LCC then Regular(0%) or medium(25%) . Try a Manual Set voltage that is below 1.2v. LCC you can leave on Auto though I use high myself.

To be honest i a noob in this, never tried playing with voltages. But i will check and see what Vcore voltage is in the bios.

Hmmmm thanks, i will try that today when i get home and then get back to you :)

no,i dont believe you have any problem with the cooler.when we got into the high 30s celsius this summer my temps went up by almost 10 degrees.i would add a fan side and top.
