Hyper-V on an i5-2400?

I'm trying to get Hyper-V running on my desktop, but when I try and enable it in the BIOS the Intel Virtualisation Technology bar is disabled and I am unable to enable it.:

My mobo is a Asus P8P67-LE, running 8Gb RAM

Any help would be much appreciated.

Looks like you're not alone in having this issue. Even the manual for that board says it's supported. One thing I've seen that people have said that helped was disabling the "Execute Disable Bit".

Nah, that button is "locked" too (locked to "Enabled"). Hmmmm...

Are you trying to use VT-X of VT-d?

It looks like VT-d isn't supported on most of the P67 chipset.

Your issue likely is that Asus didn't enable it for certain CPUs or chipsets.

It's all good, I found a workaround (Virtual Box)

Yeah agreed, it's really good. I needed to do some testing with IE9/10 so Virtual Box, plus free virtual machine downloads from Microsoft are just the ticket: https://dev.windows.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/tools/vms/windows/
