Hi everyone,

I have an R5 2600 (stock HS) on an Asus TUF B450M-pro mobo. i have my old hyper 212 evo (bought 2012) with my old am3 board. questions are: any (if there is one) tweak on installing it without the mounting kit for am4? also, i am torn between the new hyper 212 evo led if it gives me the same performance with jy old athlon x3 cpu. the gammaxx 400 v2 is way cheaper than the 212 led so i am checking for any suggestions or advice which will be highly appreciated!

btw, pc specs are as follows:

Asus TUF B450M-PRO
Ryzen 5 2600 (stock cooler)
2x16gb ddr4 (3200mhz)
CM 500w (bought 2012)
NZXT casing with 4 120mm fans
480gb SSD crucial
1TB HDD WD
Asus GTX 750ti
idle temp: 39-40 degrees
max (hwmonitor) - dota 2 and csgo: 57-60 degrees
Gammaxx. Two of my friends own either of these. The 212 doesn't exactly have a flat cpu block very disappointing. If yiu want a 212, get a black edition. Otherwise gammaxx

thanks @Prad_Bitt! that's what i thought soni cannot get my old hyper 212 evo installed on this new AM4 board without the mounting kit. any reco for gammaxx? gte, 400 v2 as i am seeing different variants. the black edition is a bit pricey in my country so i think i would scratch that...

Where are you from? Even where I live it's a bit pricier. 212 RGB Black is like $55. Gammaxx GT ARGB is $38 which seems like a great deal to me. Otherwise I'd go for whatever fits my budget. My friend has the GTE

Philippines @Prad_Bitt! since i cannot find nor look for an am4 mounting for my old hyper 212 evo, i would settle for a new cooler with am4 mounting kit. considering the gammaxx 400 v2 or the GTE, not sure if this drops my R5 2600 to 10-15 degrees lesse at full load. as for the hyper 212 black edition, i don't see any reviews for an R5 procei.

I have an H212 RGB, on a 3600. It dropped my load temps very much. What also helped was additional fans in my case. My PUBG temps went from 95 to 65. CSGO went from 80 to 55. Huge difference. GTA went from 90-92 to 60-62

My friends' 3500, had about a 20-25° drop as well under load with the GTE. Not sure if it was GTE or GTE V2. Definitely not one of those ARGB rainbow coolers

then, i would go for gammaxx GTE - a bit higher than the 400 v2 but with very huge drop on temps..thank you for your advice, much appreciated! i was hoping i could install the old H212 evo however, i am uncertain if the ones they sell online is indeed compatible or applicable my old cooler to be hooked up to mu am4 board...
