hyperterminal ignores delete key

I have an industrial servo control system that uses vxWorks with a Pentium processor. I can only access bios and other set up parameters using a serial port.. I therefore use HyperTerminal. When I try to get to the BIOS,, I get prompted to press the DEL key. It appears that the DEL key is unresponsive and without it, I cannot get to the BIOS. Is there a way to activate the DEL key or is there a better terminal software?

Thank you. I was able to get it to work after sever iterations.

I presume re-configuring Del was a challenge, but at least it works.
