HyperX 8GB Laptop Memory Help

Hi I recently purchased a single HyperX DDR3 8GB 1600mhz laptop memory stick for my Hp Envy m6 model 1105dx witch can handle 16gb of memory with the speed of 1600mhz. I just installed the Memory but my computer says the memory is running at 800mhz instead of 1600mhz is this how it is supposed to be

Yeah, DDR stands for Double data rate so actually it's 2x800MHz, thus 1600mhz.
