So i currently have two sticks of Kingston HyperX beast, 4GB each, It has also been underclocked to 1600mhz (normally 2333mhz). unfortunatly due to the size of my CPUs cooler (corsair hyper 412s) iv been limited to only using 2 of my 4 Ram slots, I was wondering if its possible and safe to remove all or most of the heat sink casing so i can fit 2 more under the cooler without cooking it instantly or damaging it in the long run.

If not is it possible to use a diffrent low profile brand?
Thanks

You can try, believe with Kingston it A) voids the warranty and B) depending on how attached could actually ruin the sticks (have seen people pop the actual memory chips off), C) No guarantee additional sticks will play with old, even if the same exact model #. . Might consider a 2x8GB set and sell the old or use them in another rig
