Info hyperx cloud 2 sound card not working

i've had the headset for over a year and no problems but in the past week the sound card has stopped working then working again but right now its stopped and its the longest its stopped i've unplugged it changed to every different usb port still no difference it light up and everything ive restarted mp still doesn't work
the dongle for the headset works but the sound card just doesn't
it says it not plugged when it is

Tried updating it's firmware? https://www.hyperxgaming.com/us/support/technical/downloads/87032

Also tried using the headphones with the 3.5MM plug into the motherboard or front audio? Just to see if the headset itself works.

It could also be that Windows has the wrong sound device selected as output. Easiest to go to Control Panel, then go to Sound, then make sure your HyperX is set to default.

Bit of a necro but useful info for anyone searching for this problem in future. I had the same problem on my headset and saw a lot of threads suggesting changing audio settings or reinstalling drivers. While this may be the problem for some people the solutions presented were clearly not working for all those affected. After seeing a comment on a YouTube video about the issue and with nothing left to lose I cracked the soundcard open and exactly as predicted by my YouTube prophet there was a loose connection inside.

People from the future beware: If your USB device is not being recognised at all it is in fact a hardware fault and can only be fixed by re-soldering the connection yourself or replacing the USB sound card entirely.
