[SOLVED] HyperX Fury 8GB DDR4 2666MHz vs 3200MHz

Hi,

I'm building new PC and bought i3 9100f CPU and MSI H310M PRO-M2 Plus Motherboard.

For the RAM I bought HyperX Fury 8GB (2x4) 2666MHz DDR4 CL16 as the price was noticeably low and it was better performer than others when I checked it on userbenchmark.com, for example - https://ram.userbenchmark.com/Compa...ngeance-LED-DDR4-2666-C16-2x8GB/3556vsm152975 and also as my motherboard is limited to 2666MHz I bought 2666MHz version. In addition to that I will have i3 CPU which is also limited to 2400MHz as far as I know.

I have some questions regarding my decisions:

1) Was my comparings reliable and will it perform really better than other higher valued RAMs?

2) Will it work on 2666MHz or as CPU is limiting it, it will work on 2400Mhz?

3) Was my decision right about buying HyperX Fury 8GB (2x4) 2666MHz DDR4 and not 3200MHz version? I have second thoughts as the price was about 5$ higher for 3200 version.

You can't use the faster DDR4 3200 with the motherboard you picked. You would need a Z300 series board to run 3200. Don't worry about it, you will be limited to 2400 anyway because of CPU and motherboard chipset limitations

You are very unlikely to notice any difference in games or programs loading. The only thing you really need to worry about is whether you will need more than 8GB of ram now or in the future, because if you want to increase it, you may have issues mixing kits and might be better off buying a 2x8GB kit.
