Hyperx Fury vs. Hyperx Savage?

Ethanh100

Honorable
I am planning on upgrading my ram, eventually, and am between these two because of their price and performance. I will be buying a 2x4gb kit. The savage is newer correct? but the fury is class 10 vs class 9 right. Which should i get (I will be gaming, some pro apps like premiere, and just general stuff) Thanks.

Honestly I'd also like to bring GSkill's offer to the table: Their RAM is known for its quality, whilst still being reasonably priced and beastly looking: http://www.amazon.com/G-Skill-F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL-PC3-12800-RipjawsX-9-9-9-24/dp/B004I763AW

Out of the two you mentioned the Savage are a better pick, though in real world tests you won't notice the difference.
Go with the CAS 9. Both sets are good. Kingston (when t comes to RAM) has been in the business for a long time and have the lost RMA rate of all RAM companies. The CAS 9 will produce less lag and will help better than the 10.
Savage line runs off XMP and found with tighter CLs Example,CL9 at 1600 or 1866 vs the 10 of the Furys. The Savage line is also somewhat stronger with OC head room
Hope I was able to help.

Those are some good G-skills. Although for around the same price or cheaper. I would go with these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148500&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
Timing 8-8-8-24
Cas Latency 8
Voltage 1.5V

Very good DIMMs, but I don't like the looks 😛. Besides performing well, I want my PC to look great. (by the way, this is just my opinion, as some people do actually like those).

True. I get that. I was never one for looks though. Like my car I care about what is under the hood, not how it looks. Although I will admit. I love LED lighting in the case lol

Of course performance should always be your main priority, though. Having hardware look good is more of a luxury than a necessity. That's why some people worry about making color-specific builds and such.

I know I am a little late to the party here, and it's more of just me adding my two cents.

All of those options are good, but the kingston offerings have the benefit of being somewhat low profile, whereas the other suggested offerings have obnoxiously large heat spreaders. At least for me, only the kingston offerings would fit under my CPU cooler which would make all other considerations null, unless I bought a new cpu cooler 😉
