I have recently built a gaming computer and when I went to the system panel on Windows 7, it says I only had 2.99 GBs of usable RAM when I installed 8 GBs. Help please! ( my memory http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104277 )

Do you have Windows 7 32-bit?

If so, the 32-bit version limits the memory down to about 3GB. That might be your problem.
