Hello, I've recently upgraded to a Crosshair 5 Formula-Z board and 9370 Chip. I've been trying to get my PCIE Hyperx Predator to be my "gaming only" SSD drive instead of my main C: drive. The Predator has Win10 installed on it. If it's plugged in I cannot boot from my CD ROM or SSD's. The bios doesn't see it. If I unplug my Predator and reboot my system I can now see both of my normal SSD drives and my CD ROM but I cannot plug in the Predator later and have windows 7 see it. Apparently it only reads for new drives on a reboot?
I'm using the latest bios for my CH5FZ mobo (bios 2201) and all my drivers are updated. My Predator has Firmware Revision OC34L5TP – 11/16/15 installed.
I've had a windows 10 mishap which is why I wish to go back and re-install windows 7 off the Predator and on a normal SSD drive, therefore switching the boot up drive. This has been accomplished and I'm now booting from a SSD. The problem is Windows wont acknowledge the Predator unless it was plugged in at reboot. If its plugged in at Reboot it then loads Win 10. Its been over a month so I cannot have win10 revert back to win 7 which would be pointless anyway because I don't want Windows on the Predator...
Does anyone know a "trick" to allowing the other SSD's or CD ROM to show in bios boot up settings while the Predator is plugged in? I think there might be an issue between the Asus 990 chip set and the Predator. Kingston has hinted there might be but won't come right out and admit it. They just say something about updating the firmware but there's seems to be no time frame or urgency for this. If I ask more specific questions they just don't answer.
Right now my Predator PCIE drive sits there unplugged. I need its 240G for more software.
Thanks! Any ideas or help would be appreciated.
