Hello, I'm new.
This monitor was recommended by this site when it had the Hydis 20MS, Today according to Hyundai Imagequest tech support the monitor has the Samsung 12MS Panel.
is the monitor still recommended for gaming and good image quilty?

Tnx

Hey, if it is samsung 12ms panel, then it will be a lot better indeed, it will have a similar performance to 710t and 172x. But where did you see the info about Q17 changing to samsung 12ms panel? Can you show me the link?

"Hyundai no longer use the 20ms Hydis panel in their Q17 and haven't since 2003. They use the 12ms Samsung panel now in the Q17 and in the Q17+ (confirmed by Hyundai tech support)."
Moreover, my friend asked Hyundai thch support about the ms, and they confimed it.

That is great then, hey go to newegg.com and buy it, they have it in stock and charge only for $315, a very good buy, especially with samsung 12ms and DVI.

This looks fishy to me. The Samsung 710T and 172X have different specs than the Q17. The brightness, contrast, and view angles (horizontal and vertical) are different. This would lead me to believe that the panels are also different.

I agree that does not sound right.
Most moniter mftrs exaggerate the specs in their favor, and are not true 16ms dispays.

Also, Hyundai does not mention response time on their website.

Yes, It's relly strange that Hyundai doesn't mantion the response time on their website, if the monitor is included the sumsung 12MS panel so...
Can you recommend me for another altenative (same price)?

Tnx

I copied from newegg.com, it seem that the Q17 has the identical spec compared to the 710vt

But what is the refresh rate of the Q17?
I'd go with a 12ms model, if I were buying one.

According to the Samsung web site, the 710VT has the following specs which are very different that the Q17. Perhaps Newegg is wrong on their specs.
