Question I’m Looking to Upgrade My Pc

Alright, I built a Gaming Pc around three years ago and I think it’s high time I give it an upgrade. I spent around 1200 dollars on it and I’m looking to put another 500 in it. This is the build https://pcpartpicker.com/user/prohunter654/saved/ I’m looking for ideas on how I can make this system as optimal as possible, be it upgrading the CPU a little and adding whatever else or throwing as much as I can into he CPU. I’m looking to comfortably compete with every next gen game that comes out in the next 3-5 years. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I would purchase an M.2 drive, put your OS and programs on it. Transfer games saves and storage to the HDD and look for a used 7th gen i7.

Can you recommend a reliable place to find a used i7? Would you say the 7700k would suffice?
