So today i went out to replace my i3-8100 with a i5-8400. I installed it (my first time doing so). I booted to my OS fine and proceeded to run some benchmarks. Not only does it feel a fair amount slower than my past cpu, it displays a very curious message. As far as i know, the only i-5 8400 to exist has 6 cores. My pc keeps displaying i-5 8400 but with 4 cores. Maybe i am being stupid, but there should be 6 cores displayed, Yes? It even says so on box. And it shows the amount as 4 cores on multiple software. Did i get a faulty cpu? Did i mess up the installation as it was my first time? Or am i just dumb?
