I am not going to overclock but k is a t higher clock stock 3.4 vs 4.0 I am gonna pair either one with a b150 but I want this for my gaming rig with a gtx 1070 to play high end games but which one should I get is there a noticeable difference I have a cryrorig H7 for either one

What resolution are you gaming at? Do you already have the B150 board?

If you're not overclocking the i5-6500 is going to be a better purchase. It performs about the same for less money. No need to buy an aftermarket cooler if you are not overclocking.

well no I wont actually have this stuff until after christmas but im figuring out what im gonna get now to maybe a little bit of 4k but probly mostly 1080p

That's not going to make a build "future proof". Nothing will, really. The performance gains you would get by spending the extra $100 on an i7 are very minimal. It's not really worth it for gaming. For video editing you might want to get the i7, but then the difference in cost between the i7-6700 and the K version are only a difference of about $20. Where it really makes sense to spend more money is on graphics.

ok i think ill go with i7 6700 i just thought since it is only at 3.4 ghrz is would affect [erformance becsuse my curretny cpu is at 4.0 ghrz and its amd fx 8350
