Question I accidentally stripped some of the paint/stain from a Satellite Pro laptop ?

Hi. While trying to remove sticky materials left by a label on the case of a Satellite Pro, I used acetone and it stripped some of the matt black stain/paint. Any ideas what I could use to restore it? I'm guessing it needs to be something that allows the heat from the screen to escape. Also guessing it isn't paint, as it's so easily removed.

Acetone just removes like anything and all sort of materials, like coatings. Just to be sure, is the screen/display or just the case of the laptop that has this happening?
on the display most likely is a foil, that can be removed just by peeling it off. That would be just to secure it while transporting.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. It's on the back of that part of the case that holds the screen, ie the outside of the case when closed.
Would spray on matt paint be OK?

If it´s no foil, then the coating is gone. Like in this picture:

Remove all of it, then you can use a large sticker or foil to pimp it again
e.g.

temperature on this side is not relevant for the cpu or motherboard and it will be fine nontheless
No, it's nothing like that - it's simply lost colour that transferred to the tissue I was using.
I was going to attach a photo, but can't find an option for that
