I'm new to the site and wanted to know something as well. I have an AMD A10-5700 APU and I was looking to add a new GPU to it. I'm looking to play some HD style games and possibly, do some animation scenes with my present desktop PC. What version of Nvidia would be a good fit for this and will I have any compatibility issues with my advised choice of GPU?

You need to provide full system specs, case size/model/brand, power supply brand and model, budget and what is "HD style games"? HD is just a resolution it will not say anything about how demanding a game is. You can play something like SIMS 3 in HD and Witcher 3 in HD and both will have very different requirements.
