Everyboard ive owned trying to get this damn cable in i always end up bending a pin because these things do not go in easy. Terrible design

Both, is there some trick to this? Both mobos this has happened have been MSI. Brand new ones. it just feels like the plug in never goes in smooth. Feels like i have to jam it in to get it to go. Im not sure if the notch on the blue plastic part needs to be flush with the housing or is there a gap?

Are you sure you didn't just bend the cable's connector at some point? Because I've literally have had zero issues plugging in a USB cable that wasn't warped in some way and I don't think I've ever come across this question before.

Can you give us a picture of the connector in question, or at least the model of MSI motherboard you are using?

Well i should also add its been on 2 different cases both phantek. And both msi motherboards. This new case (enthoo evolv) i still had trouble plugging it into the (x370 msi pro carbon)

Which connector are you trying to use, the one parallel with the memory slots or the one parallel with the PCI/E slots?

This kind. Thttp://i1-news.softpedia-static.com/images/news2/MSI-990FXA-GD80-AM3-Bulldozer-Motherboard-Spotted-5.jpg

I don't know what the problem is. You should be able to line up the key on the connector with the slot on the receptacle, and it should go right in. :/
