I am currently using a ASRock H97 Pro4 motherboard, I was just wandering if anyone could help me decide on a RAM upgrade?

Hi everyone, I will start off by posting my specs below:

Motherboard: ASRock H97 Pro4
CPU: Intel I5 4690K @3.5GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (MSI)
RAM: 2x 4GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600
HDD: 1TB Seagate ST1000DM003
SSD: 240GB KINGSTON SV300S37A240G

Currently I am playing a lot of Battlefield 1, where the recommended amount of RAM is 16GB, I have noticed while playing that on rare occasions my FPS will crash and outright freeze for a few seconds, when I normally run the game on max settings between 80-100 FPS. I decided to try combat the issue with a RAM upgrade and was looking at the Corsair 16GB DDR3 2400Mhz Vengeance Pro Kit. When I checked compatibility lists and such I could find nothing stating whether this RAM was compatible and became a bit skeptical as to what to do? Is this RAM a good choice for my system? Or perhaps you have other suggestions? Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

(I will not be replying for a while as it is 1am right now in the UK... will check the forum tomorrow around lunch time, hopefully earlier. Thanks again).

Solution
Try with 2x8 16GB as a single kit in the slots that are working.
You won't need more than that for most gaming and other apps.
Trying other combinations will not harm your system it may just refuse to Boot.

Your MB officially supports up to 1600MHz RAM and 2400MHz ram will be clocked back to 1600MHz according to ASRock. This is due to the configuration of the chipset, each RAM will be downgraded to DDR3 1600MHz with H97 series chipset.

Thanks a lot for the response meanmachine41, after posting my original question I did actually realise this :/ do you perhaps have any suggestions on what RAM I should buy instead? Could I just get 2 more of the 4GB Vengance sticks that I am using at the moment and stick all 4 of them in at once?

Well you certainly have a better chance however there is no guarantee. Even sticks of the same specs can be troublesome and may require Tweaking your Bios.
The question is asked over and over again regarding mixing RAM. Some take the risk and others get a kit the size and frequency that have been tested in conjunction with their MB as a KIT. They are listed on the QVL list and available at the ASRock support site.
It is your choice however, I recommend Corsair Vengeance at 1600MHz which are good quality and good lifetime RMA in case they ever fail and keep what you have as spares.

Ok thanks a lot, I may buy the 2x8gb Corsair Vengeance and just try using it with the 2x4gb aswell to make a total of 24gb RAM, and if that doesn't work I will just stick put in the 2x8gb sticks only. If I am understanding correctly from looking elsewhere, my mobo is not quad-channel, but 4 sticks should be ok so long as the same RAM is in corresponding slots?
