Sometimes, I get a weird artifacting visual bugt when I change my Windows 10 security settings. My PC freezes up for a second and then a line of something that looks like a QR code. It's all black and white. It looks staticky. Is this an issue? It only started happening fairly recently. It's worth noting that I'm getting a 0x80070643 error when I try to download tthe 2024-01 Security Updatre for WIndows 10 (KB5034441). Is this related to that error, and how do I fix that error too? Does this mean that my GPU is failing, or is this just a Windows issue?
I tried to follow these steps to fix the update failure, but it didn't help:

You should think about reinstalling the OS if you want to get that update to go through, the issue is the devs who wrote the code for that update made a mistake and it needs t resize your recovery partition. Recreate your bootable USB installer for the OS and then reinstall the OS, after you've backed up any and/or all mission critical content.

Also, the recent update from Windows 10 was wreaking havoc and eventually made me jump platforms and the OS as well.

You have one more BIOS update pending. Flash to the latest, then clear the CMOS and see if that helps.

multiple times over the last few months i have had Windows Update errors with new security updates.
each time they are eventually fixed on MS end and install fine.
would have nothing at all to do with the state of your graphics card.

why would you be constantly changing your security settings to cause this issue?

if no problem occurs when gaming, editing video, running benchmarks or graphical stress tests then there is no problem with the GPU.

Thanks! It's good to hear that this is at least a common issue and not just an issue with my build. I'll reinstall Windows then to get that to work. I'll also update my BIOS to the latest version. I actually updated it on 4/18/24, so it's funny that they apparently released the update a few hours after I updated it lol. I did have some other issues in games which may be artifacting which I added to the end of this post. Do they seem like actual artifacting though?

It's good that it's just a Windows issue then. I was having some other possible artifacting issues.

The most intensive game I played recently was Helldivers 2. That seems mostly fine although the screen randomly flashes white for a second sometimes. I'm hoping that's jus Helldivers though since the game is really buggy. I get some object pop-in in DBD sometiems with objects right in front of me when I round a corner; is this artifacting, or is this just the game? I've been playing Rainbow Six Siege on Ultra settings, and that seems perfectly fine; that's definitely elss intensive than Helldivers though. Do these seem like instances of artifacting? I'll run some more benchmarks and stress tests too.

if this security update is actually causing you problems outside of this graphical issue then i'd say go ahead and attempt the reinstall.

if not, i would just wait for MS to fix it on their end and let it install later on when they've addressed it and re-released it.
This is the only issue I've noticed so far, so that makes sense. I'll wait until MS fixes this issue. Thanks!
