I recently bought and assembled all of the parts for my computer. Once I got everything in and turned it on I got the fans to turn and interract with the speed changer. As well as get lights and fans to work that were on my graphics card. I then tried to plug in my monitor to get a black screen. I tried it with a laptop and it worked fine. I don't know what to do now

Does the motherboard have an onboard graphics adapter? Is your monitor connected to a video card that you installed? If the answer to the first question is yes then you need to connect your monitor to the onboard graphics adapter and go into the BIOS to disable it. After you have disable it then connect the monitor to your video card.
